Our Origin Story

The seed for Still Life Stories was planted during a deeply personal moment of transition. When my daughter and I reached the end of our breastfeeding journey, it was time for the nursing chair to leave her room. With no space for it elsewhere, I realised it had to go.

What seemed like a simple decision stirred an unexpected wave of emotion. That chair had held us through countless twilight hours — peaceful nights, challenging moments and some of the most tender memories of early motherhood. Parting with it felt like closing a chapter I treasured with all my heart.

I chose to honour it. To capture its portrait exactly as it lived in those busy, beautiful days — worn, softened and full of story. That act of remembrance became the foundation of an idea: a collection titled, Thank You for Your Service — a tribute to the objects that carry us, comfort us, support us and quietly witness the chapters of our lives.

From beloved furniture and sentimental clothing to tools, keepsakes, and everyday companions, our possessions often hold meaning far beyond their function. They are anchors to memory. Touchstones of identity. Gentle reminders of who we were, who we loved and how we lived.

Letting go is not easy. Home clearances, life transitions and moments of change can feel emotionally overwhelming. The pull to hold on — even when space runs out — is completely natural. These objects feel as though they keep our memories safe; that releasing them might mean forgetting.

With my latest iteration, Still Life Stories, we ensure those memories endure.
We create intimate, fine-art portraits of meaningful possessions, offering a way to hold on without needing to keep the physical object forever. In doing so, we help ease difficult decisions, honour cherished moments and preserve the stories that matter most.

Your memories deserve a place to live — beautifully, thoughtfully and with the reverence they deserve.

The Concept.

Letting go of sentimental items can feel almost impossible. Whether you’re decluttering a family home, moving house or navigating bereavement, the memories tied to our possessions make them incredibly hard to part with. Yet keeping everything simply isn’t practical.

Still Life Stories offers a way to honour those memories without needing to hold on to every object. Through thoughtful photography and storytelling, I capture the essence of treasured items and the stories behind them, preserving what matters most.

With over a decade of experience in product photography and a deep love of narrative, I guide people through this process with care — helping them create meaningful visual keepsakes while making space in both home and mind.

Gather. Share. Connect.

Beyond the portraits themselves, Still Life Stories extends into workshops, exhibitions and small gatherings designed to bring people together.

In these spaces, everyday objects become doorways to conversation — gentle prompts that help us share memories, process change and feel a little less alone.

Loneliness doesn’t discriminate; it touches every age and every stage of life, from new parenthood to grief and everything in between.

By creating warm, welcoming environments where stories can be offered or simply witnessed, our aim is to turn strangers into neighbours and moments of isolation into connection. Because when we pause to look closely, the things we hold onto often hold us together too.
