Still Life Stories Photography Session Release

A short form to confirm you’re happy to take part in a Still Life Stories photography session and how the resulting photographs and story may be used.

Your details

Object(s) being photographed:

Taking part

Still Life Stories photographs meaningful objects and the memories, people and experiences connected to them.

Your session may include photographs of your object, photographs of you with your object, and conversation about the story behind it.

You are always free to decide what you would like to share. You can ask to pause or stop the session, decline a particular photograph or choose not to answer any question.

Photography and recording

Depending on the session, Still Life Stories may create:

  • photographs of your object or possessions

  • portraits of you and/or other agreed participants

  • behind-the-scenes photographs or video

  • audio or video recordings of your story or conversation

  • written versions or extracts of the story you share

Not every session will include all of these.

Creating your finished Still Life Story

Photographs may be professionally selected, cropped, retouched, colour corrected and prepared for print or digital presentation.

Where your spoken or written story forms part of the finished piece, it may be edited for length, spelling or clarity while preserving the meaning of what you have shared.

Sharing your story publicly

You do not have to agree to public sharing in order to take part in a Still Life Stories session.

With your permission, selected photographs, video, audio and/or extracts from your story may be used to share and promote Still Life Stories.

This may include:

  • the Still Life Stories and Shoots & Stories websites

  • exhibitions and community events
